I personally dislike the rank of Legend, as being a Legend has nothing to do with who has been with the site the longest. Many of the so-called "Legends" are really not legends at all. And many of the Golden veterans or even Exco vets are Legends.

Take Afro, Devons, Ish even, they are all Legends so I have no problem with them being allocated the status.

Even Chibi is a legend, if not for spriting then take his Comic. So is Son Goharotto, not because he was with Vortex longer than us(even though he was) but because he started the trend with his sprites.

The point I'm trying to get at is that so many of these "Legends" are pissing me off when they are indeed not really Legends. Anyone else agree?

Ultimate Veteran - 06 (Aceboard) = Legends
Golden Age - 07 (Aceboard) = Legends in the Making
Silver Age - 08 (Excoboard) = Golden Age
Member - 09 (Now) = Silver Age

Since this was ignored before, i guess ill repost this. Again with this change, even the new members weve gained her get a rank that some of them deserve

Yes WWW, some of them I agree deserve it. But you see, AB had a topic for it, and changed them individually for us, so should it not be that the Legends be changed back to Ultimate Vets, and only the True Legends reamain as Legends?

Wel for me it isn't about my time on Vortex as much as it it how long i've been spriting. Since i've been doing it a lot longer than atleast 75% of this forum.

Id say another way to segrigate this is to give it to those with the most sheets, No. Stop righting there mr. new person whom made their account 3 days ago, i dont want to know about how you made 45 sheets in under 2 hours all headswaps, all horrible. Im talking about real sheets, and real characters.

Or someone who has accomplished great feats. Cause some people here don't sprite anymore. They just stick around for the community. But what ever I don't mind.

That's actually not a bad idea. That way it gives members the incentive to sheet something never done before to go up in the ranks instead of doing a thousand go-nowhere WIPs.

Which is why I think I should be a legend. Not because of my comic(that would be a different rank) but because I have been spriting for so long. Ish, Maistro, Didier and myself(and a few others) have been spriting longer than probably 95% of you. No offense to Blues and Frost but I dont even see them as real legends. People I consider Legends are those really really REALLY old spriting vets that were spriting before/around the time I was.

I think that little group should be the Legends.
Then under that I think should be Vortex Veterans(and by vets I mean people like Frost, Blues, RSF and all them good people.) I dont believe everyone whos been here since the first vortex should be considered a vet. Thats just my opinion though.
Then under that should be Experienced Spriter... for the one/two year spriters who are actually good.
Then under that should be the New Spriters..self explanatory.
and then a special rank for people who are extremely good such as Dr. Paper and Devons who just blow my mind with their work. Call this Spriting Gods or something like that.

Dont worry mate, I take no offense to it at all. However, I dont believe spriting for a year or even two should make you able to be called a vet of any sort.

This is true, I am in the group, way back when ish and Chib's had their customs unshaded. Pretty much same time as them at spriting, but both are them are way past me in skill.

Well Chibi, this would b e the only thing in your post I disagree with, because You don't necessarily have to be a spriter to be a Legend here on Vortex. Which is why I mentioned your comic.

I forgot we had a hall of fame... I actually just proposed a hall of fame idea in the mod shack... thats the 2nd time I've done that now (I proposed it in the first place). Talk about recycling ideas.

Anyway I agree, A legend should be someone inducted into the hall of fame, I'll chat with the guys and try and get it sorted.
