| Was there ever a game that you bought or rented that you thought was going to be awesome, but ending up not living up to your expectations at ALL? I can name a few...
Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia (DS): I was unbelievably hyped for this game. I had played and beaten both Dawn of Sorrow and Portrait of Ruin before, but this looked to proceed the both of them COMBINED. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. The fact that some areas were literally pointless and only took about a whole 2 seconds to run through just to simply conjoin to areas was a lame idea. I also did not like the whole Glyph system. It SOUNDED really cool, but ended up being just mashing both X and Y for combos. Probably the only good thing about it was the awesome boss fights. Still, Portrait of Ruin remains as my favorite of the 3.
Yakuza (PS2): For a small time, I was seriously addicted to this game. The combat and everything was just so satisfying to me. That all changed after I beat it, and found there was NO REPLAY VALUE WHATSOEVER. I was severely pissed.
Star Ocean: Till the End of Time (PS2): I have NO idea what possessed me to buy this friggin' waste of disc space, but I did. God, it's so bad. The story is basically a dumbed down version of Kingdom Hearts, hopping from world to world to look for your friends. The graphics were horrible, the voice acting was crap, the character animations were so clunky I swear they were running around like a bunch of mongoloids, and the combat was so stiff that it didn't even feel like I was doing ANYTHING whatsoever in battle.
The Movies (PC): I was SADLY disappointed when I learned this was a simulation game. I have developed a hatred for those ever since The Sims 2 corrupted my memory card's block space. I was under the impression ALL you did was make movies right from the beginning. I quickly lost interest. A very bad purchase on my part.
Anybody else have problems like these? |

| Dead Space. Is fun for about 3 or so hours, then get's DULL as hell.
Call of Duty: World at War. This one isn't a GIGANTIC disappointment, just slightly. The online is incredibly unbalanced when you start off, and MINES ARE INVISIBLE.
There are more but I don't wanna start a list. |

| Soap doesn't die, he gets airlifted out at the end. Price doesn't die since he was alive enough to throw you a gun. Gaz doesn't die because he's bulletproof. They also don't die because YOU DO A BONUS MISSION WITH THEM AT THE END. |

| Star Wars : The Force Unleashed I cried. T_T Burst Limit wasn't bad. It just had no replay value. It needed to be bigger like Budokai 3. When(Hopefully) they make Burst Limit 2/3 it'll be better. |

Mercenaries 2 (god I expected so much more) All the new Megaman Games. (hope they make a good one soon) DBZ Tenkaichi 3 (not much of a game) Guitar Hero World Tour (Its awesome but gets boring its just not the same as the old ones) Sonic Unleashed (the day stages were an improvement but the night stuff just killed it)
(these were just resent ones)

| Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Yes, removing all skill from a game makes it balanced, but it removes all competitive aspects. + Horrible, horrible online play and Subspace = retarded.

| I laugh at your tourneyfagness, I honestly didn't notice that much of a difference gameplay wise but I agree with you on the online play being incredibly bleh. |

| Well on game play, they removed wave-dashing, l-cancelling, made you short hop go over other characters heads, every character can now make it back to the edge from the far side of the screens, everyone is as floaty or more so than Samus and Jiggly Puff were, making combos virtually impossible, the new characters got jacked up with retarded moves that destroy those of the old characters (Metaknight and Pit don't have good finishers like everyone else, but every move in their arsenal is a devastating 15 hit move that you just have to sit there and take, not to mention characters like R.O.B have that stupid instantaneous laser that flies across the screen and Zero Suit Samus throwing her suit goes at a ridiculously fast speed and have wild knock back compared to everything else. Seriously, everytime I've planned one on one with a Zero-Suit, I've lost my first life from those projectiles alone), there are no finishing moves (Character's spikes were all turned into junk ie. Samus and Falco no longer have their spike, Sheik's fair was turned into junk which was Sheik's only real finisher), They decided to turn Falco's deflector in to a projectile and removing the upward knockback (combining with the retarded short hop to make it impossible to pillar or short hop laser characters, which was Falco's greatest feature).
And what the hell is with the characters, I was under the impression we were removing clones from the game after the minor differences between Mario and Doc. But they decide to add more clones and use the stupidest characters. Lucas? Let's replace Mewtwo with Lucario. Exact same moves, less known character. Add a triple clone to Fox and Falco, replace a shitty character like Roy with an even slower worse character like Ike.
Adding things like b-sticking a horrible, horrible advanced tech..., tripping, and toadstool jumping. Those sure make it more competitive. I won't get into items and stages because I think they are retarded in all the smash games. But, the final smashes are instant 1 hit kills for some characters and for others it's almost impossible to get a kill (ie. Captain Falco - Hit them travelling at light speed).
As far as the online goes, anyone with a brain could have told you off the bat that Smash online would have horrible lag. And anyone who's ever played Smash would know that the tiniest bit of lag + Smash is unplayable. The game requires 100% perfect timing to pull some stuff off. But, throwing in no options like items, stages, teams, [b]stock[/], unless you are playing against your friends is just plain stupid.

| I agree with you there. Super Smash Bros. Brawl didn't live up to its expectations. The clones on in that game piss me off to no end. Sure there are some good things in that game but every negative aspect of the game just offsets the balance. Brawl is just not what I would have expected Melee's sequel to be. T_T |

Naruto: Ninja council 3: Didn't like how they made the missions go, and the collision times were horrible.
Most DS games, GBA was much better.
Naruto ultimate ninja 4: the actual gameplay was AWESOME! But it only lasts like an hour b4 u beat it.
Lux Pain: Very boring
Blitz: the league. good plotline, horrible gameplay. |

| Legendary: It had so much potential it could have been the most amazing game, but no. Poor game play, and physics just kill this game.
Ironman: Ugh, so terribly dull. |

| Super DBZ: Just pure shit on a rusted platter.
Spiderman WOS: PS2 sucked dick, it was 2.5d!
Saints Row: Sick amazing game, Multiplayer sucks balls. IT HAS MAPS! And not even free mode!
Fable II: Best RPG ever, but I have a girl file, and I had a baby with ANOTHER girl! The whole point of being a girl is not having babys with other chicks, and it happened. WTF!? Also, my dude file, I had a kid with my wife, (it always stays in the crib with a blanket over it) and went on a quest for 10 years, came back and my kid was black. No rasism intended, but I'm white, shes white, WTF? |

| I didn't really find Burst Limit that bad tbh, fair enough it was almost the same as Budokai 1 but just dressed up abit more but it will improve.
Also I found Metal Gear Solid 4 to be abit disappointing, the gameplay and graphics were sublime and the story? Well that was solved abit more in typical MGS fashion, but compared to Metal Gear Solid 3? With the cleaning of wounds? And applying of bandages, then there's the hunting your food to refil your stamina, pure 100% genius. Metal Gear Solid 4 wasn't really that much, which is the reason I thought it wasn't as good. However the redeeming factors are that it is and more than likely will be one of the best games on the PS3. Ever. And also, that Solid Snake finally had the chance to stop fighting and live what little time he had left in peace. But the ending of Metal Gear Solid 4 is nothing compared to Metal Gear Solid 3 IMO.
GTA IV; I just found it boring after a while, the missions and online play just seemed like nothing special.
Metal Gear Acid 1 & 2; Disgrace to classed in the 'Metal Gear' family.
That's about it for the moment. |
