Okay vortexians, heres the rap.

I have an external hard drive. It is from the brand Maxtor, takes abroximately 1/2 terrabye. On it, I keep photos, notepads, word documents, videos, sprite sheets, and a whole load of other crap. But most importantly, the 1st season of Cowboy Bebop. However, the external is no longer recognized by my computer (Vista Home Premium). I tried my parents Computer (XP Professional). Same buisness, USB not recognized.

Nothing on there can't be replaced, minus a few things I don't care about anyway, and luckily none of it is related to school. But it would be nice if I didn't have to scour the net and other sources to replace it..

What I want to know, is what action should I take to get the crap offa there and put it somewhere safe, or fix it.

If nothing else, a torrent site where I may find a WORKING torrent for the first season of Cowboy Bebop.

Thanks in advance Vortexians.

I think it's against the rules to discuss torrents and such.
Anyway, the problem's probably caused because you unplugged the harddrive without going through all the 'safely remove' bullshit. Happens to me all the time. Restart your computer and give it a try. If that doesn't work, give it a few hours.
If you do get it working and your stuff's gone, get Recuva.

OK, have you tried all of the USB Ports?(Front & Back, and it could be USB ports changing it's letters, but that's unlikely)
Also, it could be the cable, In my personal experience, two of my Externals and a friends External have all had a issue with the cable at one point.

Didn't occur to me. I'll try that after school.
