Personality: Shimizu is always easygoing, and can often be playful and cocky. Some of the positive traits Shimizu displays include being extremely cheerful, stubborn, kind, caring, friendly, determined, and quite selfless when it comes to saving friends and others, even confronting his enemies. Shimizu usually displays an action-craving attitude along with a natural affinity for humor. He will often try to talk tough, but this boisterous behavior tends to become more comical than threatening. Though at times Shimizu may act immature and clueless, he is able to take things seriously when it is called for, and can learn things quickly with the right motivation. Simple, good-natured and pure, Shimizu doesn't hold grudges, even against those who doubt him or treat him with contempt. He shows light-heartedness and humility instead of arrogance and desire for more power. It is these qualities that mark Shimizu as the Kami of the Dawn.

Physical Appearance: Shimizu is small, even for his age. He stands at about 3'3" and weighs only 50 pounds. His hair is black and usually a ruffled mess, and his eyes are of a similar color. Nothing really distinguishes him from an ordinary child, except for maybe the fact that he almost always has a broad smile spread across his face.
Attire: Shimizu has an affinity for the color blue. His most common outfit is a navy blue t-shirt with a darker blue shirt worn underneath. He wears blue jeans with a pair of white tennis shoes. With his Pure Imagination power, however, Shimizu can and often does change his attire with just a thought.

Biography: At the beginning of time, there was Amaterasu, the goddess of the sun. The meaning of her whole name is "the great Kami who shines in the heaven". Originally, Amaterasu shared the sky with her brother, Tsukuyomi, the ruler of the night. When Tsukuyomi killed the goddess of food, however, upsetting Amaterasu, she labeled Tsukuyomi as an evil god, and she split away from him, separating night from day. Angered by Amaterasu's scorn, Tsukuyomi requested the help of his brother, Susanoo, the god of storms and ruler of Yomi, the underworld. The two brothers destroyed Amaterasu's sacred buildings and killer her maidens before sealing the sun goddess into the Heavenly Rock Cave. The world, without the illumination of the sun, became dark, and Tsukuyomi and Susanoo lead horrible creatures from the realm of the dead to claim the planet for themselves.

Just when it seemed that the world would be forever lost to darkness, a hero emerged. Ame Uzume was the destined savior of Amaterasu, born as the goddess of mirth, revelry, and the dawn. She freed Amaterasu from her imprisonment. With light restored to the earth, the sun goddess and Ame drove back the forces and Yomi and ultimately defeated Tsukuyomi and Susanoo, saving the world from their great evil. To ensure that such a thing would never happen again, Ame tied a magic rope around the entrance of the Heavenly Rock Cave, preventing it from being used to imprison the sun. And for many millenia, there was peace.

But Tsukuyomi and Susanoo have not forgotten their humiliating defeat, and have been silently growing in power. The magic of Ame's rope has faded with time. Soon, the brothers will once again be able to seal their sister, and the growing forces of Yomi will return to terrorize the earth in the eternal night. This time, Tsukuyomi and Susanoo will not stop until they have gained absolute rule. Unbeknownst to them, however, a new Kami of the Dawn had been selected to prevent this dark prophecy, and he comes in the form of an eight-year-old boy...
