Possibly delete or lock your own topic?

It's plausible. But it can lead to people starting a topic, flaming the absolute shit out of someone then the creator can just delete it before an admin or mod sees it.

imo it would cause more trouble than good.

If you need your topic locked on the other hand, just ask a mod. It takes seconds.

lets say someone makes a topic but a flame starts then they delete it could it still be stored in a databank only aviable to the mods or admins

No the topic would be deleted. Forever.

Unless someone hits that report button. Then I'm pretty sure we can keep it and examine the situation.

I don't think users will ever get the power to do either of those things YB asked for.

lol reason i asked cuz somtime i get lazy to ask ppl to close topics and i just stop commenting till it gos away. also what happen to the side bar we had yesterday? i liked that thing its so user friendly

Perhaps if the Member could only lock it that way if it is flamed, the Mod's can see all of the thread before deleting it.

Like Seto said, we wouldn't allow topic deletion because it has been abused in the past (that is the reason why we disallowed it on Excoboard). Locking would be for about the same reason; people disliking comments that aren't necessarily against the rules lock their topic for childish reasons. These tools are in the Moderator CP for a reason, and the Mods are just fine with doing what they do. Its their job.

Also if need be, there is always a place that we can send topics to for staff discussion before putting it back into circulation.
