PostManga Review: Mahou Sensei Negima!

Hahaha! Well, here's something different. Created by Japan's Ken Akamatsu, you would expect something epic. And I was right. I bought this manga and I was completely caught in the action. The Manga's genre is Harem, Ecchi, School life, Fantasy and Adventure. It has 38 volumes, Volume 0 not counted.

Sometimes, they include goods such as stickers and real cards called Pactio! Unfortunately, the author had to end it quickly at 38. By the way, I won't be telling you all the characters' names.

Overview:
Since this is a Harem Ecchi Manga, you would be able to see girls clothed or naked. Uh, not really naked, of course it's censored. If this was produced uncensored, Akamatsu-sensei would probably be in jail right now. Hahaha! Why? Japan prohibits showing reproductive organs. Volume 1 to 2 shows the School Life part. Adventure and Fantasy will enter volume 3 and onwards, as it will be filled by vampires, magic, the magic world, super humans, demons and other fantasy things. Final Fantasy Tactics Advance came to my mind. The Romance in this manga was toned down, due to the fact that the male protagonist is a child.

Synopsis:
Negi Springfield is sent to an all-girl's school in Japan to be a teacher. While he's there, he has to keep his magic status a secret, naturally, which isn't very easy when the school and the students are beset with fairies that send them plunging to an alternate dimension to do battle.

Story:
The manga is all about a 10-year old kid named Negi Springfield, who graduated from the Magical School of Wales. His father, the legendary thousand master, disappeared and he wants to find him. He came to Japan to teach in an all-girls school, because this was his first job, and search for more whereabouts of his dad. He became the homeroom and English teacher of the lowest ranked section, 2-A. (Kinda ironic isn't it?) 2-A is filled with different kinds of girls, 31 different girls to be exact. There's a demon, samurai, robot, vampire. The others are half normal, as they have exaggerating characteristics. For example, Nodoka is super shy but courageous. Asuna is violent yet motherly.

He is persuaded to kiss the girls from time to time to form pactios or cards that will greatly boost the person who was kissed. Using these pactios, he heads to the magic world to find his father along with his students, or should I say harem group, to do it! Together, they face world-ending threats and adventures!

(I won't tell you the whole story. That would be spoiling the fun! Very Happy You can read it online on mangafox.)

Overall:
A very good manga, though I hated it when the author decided to end it at volume 38. It could have been prolonged up to 40, but hey, I'm not the author. If I was, then I'd probably be continuing the story. The series ran for a decade, starting on 2003 and ended last March. Anyways, the art was great. All of the girls are stunning and beautiful. The story is a bit shallow at first but when the magical world arc came into the screen, it became more interesting. It was purely astounding and packed one hell of a fight. I'd recommend you buying the manga as it's better reading it in person.
