Oh yes, I feel like a contest alone would build morale among members.

Well, the main reason is that I have RL stuff going on, but I still stop by once a day, or once in two days.

Other reason is...well...

Even when I post, you can see that no one cares what you write, no one takes time to read everyone's posts and reply to any of them, they just read the first post of the guy who opened the topic, and replies to that, but ignores all the other posts, in some cases, people do reply to other posts, but rarely if it doesn't involve them. Everyone's completely disconnected from each other. You have to flame someone, to get his attention. Lol.

About contests, I have something to say:
Vortex exists for a long time now, so, there are a great diference in spriters quality, what I mean is that while the noob gets better with time, the veteran also gets better, and is always one step behind.
I think it would be nice to have a contest based on categories. Maybe we should have a test before the contest, to categorize the spriters. Something like everyone sprites the same character on the same pose and then someone classifies us.

But whoever hosted the last couple of Vortex Contests, I think it was Seto, sorted the spriters by skill. For example I remember one of them I went against Seto, Keeae and someone else awesome at that time. So, that's pretty much taken care of.

I vote we get those ranks back. Should we accompany them with a graphic also or leave them purely text?

There was 2 different sprites in the scouter. One which members could choose and the other which were won by members and they could put anything in there and only they can have that scouter sprite.

The way which you're explaining Luka is our post rank system, which levels or ranks you by your post count. These sprites in the past were made by VRP to keep the quality high and to have a a uniform look. Afro and I sprite very similar and can both adapt to each others style as it's almost similar which is why I asked him to help me out. The staff are currently working on a new style which will be ten fold simpler for users to adapt to. It will be very retro but very skillfully crafted. The rank images will most likely be done in this style.

I noticed that there's a like/dislike button, very nice. But how the 'reputation' thing works?

Your reputation will go up and down depending on the positive or negative votes you get.

Vortex badges being created atm will be awarded to those whose reputation is high. A big update will come about the new Vortex badges. To sum them up quickly, you'll attain one for the reason I just stated, being helpful around the board, being in the top 3 posters of the month, completing a sheet which has a lot of effort put into it, winning contests, etc.

Once you get a certain amount of badges(still being decided for now), you'll be able to claim prizes as custom sprites to appear in your profile or a status bar with your name and choice of colour.

That's awesome news on the sheets, sky. The bad news is there's no way to see how many likes you've gotten or who's liked it. It's just not Facebook lol

You can see how many total likes you've had by looking at the Reputation bit in your profile.

I'm 98% sure it's not moveable as it's a function of the board which is made by forumotion. They choose where to set it when they filled in the core code of making template forums.

I don't post here very often mainly because I can't get the free time, (this is the first use of the computer for fun I've had i over a YEAR!) but it's also compounded by the fact that the vaults, despite how long it's been since my last visit, still aren't working, and with work and all I need to be able to find the sheets I want to use (with credit to the makers of course) as fast as possible. Some thing that I can't do by searching these forums one topic at a time, this place is just to big for that I'm afraid.

Actully the main reason is a lack of free time, the vaults being down just adds to it.

To be honest xbox is more appealing to me right now and Im busy at sports combines preparing for college ball after next year.
